Advertising has changed dramatically in 2010. For the first time more advertising dollars went to online advertising than to traditional print advertising. Here are some trends you should look at if you haven't already:

1. Smart Phone advertising. You can place banner ads on other companies' apps. If you are doing this what ad network do you use? Kinetik is a new advertising network that allows app advertisers and creators to cut out the advertising middlemen. Have you created your own app for your business or product? Do you plan to in 2011?

2. Social Media Advertising. 2010 was the year of Twitter and Facebook. MySpace has been redesigned and should make a resurgence. Are you planning to use any other tools such as FourSquare in 2011? Where are you having the most success? Which do you enjoy most?

3. Traditional Advertising. What forms of traditional advertising are you using? TV, Radio, Print? Have you cut back?

4. Online Advertising. Ad rates are extremely undervalued compared to traditional media. Cost per thousand is only 56 cents for online ads compared to $8 for traditional media.  Does this make sense? It's time to start demanding higher rates for the space on our websites.

What are you plans for 2011? What have you changed during 2010?
