The strategy behind strategydex

I wanted to start this group because I'm a geek and bookworm. Without strategy, you can't succeed in any venture. It's better to have strategy than none at all.

If you don't understand the strategy behind your business or investment approach, you actually have a strategy of no strategy -- a very perilous position to put yourself, your management team and your venture. This group learns from the great strategists across many sectors, topics and history.

Some of the strategy visionaries and their books are as follows:

1. Sun Tzu | The Art of War
2. Michael Porter | Competitive Strategy: Techniques for Analyzing Industries and Competitors | Competitive Advantage: Creating and Sustaining Superior Performance
3. Don Tapscott | Creating Value in the Network Economy
4. Miyamoto Musashi | The Book of Five Rings
5. Adrian J. Slywotzky and David J. Morrison | Profit Patterns: 30 Ways to Anticipate and Profit from Strategic Forces Reshaping Your Business | The Profit Zone: How Strategic Business Design Will Lead You to Tomorrow's Profits
6. George Stalk, Jr. and Thomas GH. Hout | Competing Against Time
7. Geoffrey A. Moore | Crossing the Chasm | Inside the Tornado: Strategies for Developing, Leveraging, and Surviving Hypergrowth Markets (Collins Business Essentials)
8. James F. Moore | The Death of Competition
9. Harold Von Senger | The Book of Stratagems
10. John Hagel III and Arthur G. Armstrong | Net Gain: Expanding Markets Through Virtual Communities | Net Worth
11. Chris Anderson | Long Tail, The, Revised and Updated Edition: Why the Future of Business is Selling Less of More | Free: The Future of a Radical Price
12. Michael Rothschild | Bionomics: Economy As Ecosystem
