Hi Jason. I checked out your updated website. Nice work on re-branding and corporate identity for some of the clients. But what I did not see before is the inkbox printing. Very cool site and services. I do have some questions on it. We could offer this as part of the service at entrepreneurdex. Email me at your convenience.
Jason, I love your website. It has an intelligent, non-geek, creative design. Helping clients refresh their images and retarget is crucial during recession.
I read your blog post about the lack of celebrity artists in the past 25 years. I am a painter/writer/actor and have noticed the same thing. 25 years ago what when television exploded. Cable started. The celebrity artists today are all ACTORS. After that, in the early 90s, computers exploded.
My commercial artist friends complain that "anyone can do art now on a computer"... I couldn't agree less! A computer is simply a tool, just as a pencil is a tool. You still must also have a creative mind. There is so much BAD art out there made by computer geeks who know how to use a computer program but aren't creative. It is a rare things to find both talents. Also, I have heard from college students majoring in art that 'commercial art' is the only thing they care about. They want to make MONEY. They actually look down on fine artists. The vast majority of artists (music, writers, painters) sold out during our past few decades of "affluenza." Perhaps this recession will help us get back to the basics, including fine art.
Jason, welcome to entrepreneurdex. I am extremely impressed with the work you have done. I am especially interested in the work you've done with Riazul Tequila. I've got lots of questions there because I have an idea for a tequila brand that would be very, very cool. LOL!
It is a crowded market but with the right branding, positioning and differentiation, I think the market is big enough for new brands.
