FASHION | be STREAMLINED with Stella McCartney

Why we like this: Subtle sexiness, streamlined-chic. What more could any successful and fashionable entrepreneuress want?

You will relish her double-faced cashmere coat: spare and streamlined save for a discreet notched lapel. Impeccable tailoring story. Utterly clean and minimal — no hardware, no embellishments.

We love her sixties-style dresses and tops (a la "Madmen") created from sturdy wools, also streamlined — some with big square pockets.

The shoe for women in business Fall 2011: the spiky pump.

Stella's structured sparse designs are complimented in this collection by the feminine counterpoint of sheer organza moments - inserts at the shoulders a of structured jacket or trimming a one-shoulder dress. Her ultra-mini embroidered lace dresses are sexy!

Nicole - Unfortunately a lot of the U.S. has decided to take on the jeans and t-shirt uniform for all occasions I love to dress up and always look for an occasion to do so. Unfortunately I am typically wearing workout clothing while writing and working at the computer. I checked out frining.com - great site! I enjoyed your smoothie video  -- and was just going to do a search for smoothie recipes and there it was. Thanks for joining us.

Jana - you certainly are a woman of substance when it comes to style. However, it certainly leads to a very interesting question. Are we what we wear? Or more importantly, do we become what we weat? I wear a few hats - one of a lawyer, one of an internet marketeer, one of a social networker with my food and cooking membership website (go to Frining.com and you will see what I mean) one of an artist and one of an outdoor sports enthusiast. Certainly, I would not wear my mountain bike shorts in a meeting or a dress whilst riding. My painting clothes are certainly not my office clothes and vice versa. Whilst I am working on my websites or networking or supporting others to get work, I have to admit that my usual dress is jeans and anything comfortable. It seems to me that we (and me included) have become accustomed to having a uniform for all the parts of our lives..
